Luxury sofa sets: the details to compare before you buy
Look beyond a showroom photograph: compare construction information, comfort preferences, upholstery and the exact pieces included.

A luxury sofa set should make sense up close, in use and on a written specification. Decorative frames and rich upholstery can establish a room’s character, but a photograph cannot tell you how a seat feels, how it is built or what the quoted set includes. Compare those questions separately before deciding.
For AVELOR’s classical sofa sets, use this checklist alongside the collection photographs. It is a way to request information about your selected model, rather than an assumption that every model has the same materials or options.
Define the set before comparing the price
Write a separate line for each sofa, chair, table and accessory you intend to order. Add quantities and the exact collection reference. A styled photograph may include a rug, mirror, lamp or cabinet that is not part of the furniture quotation. Comparing two prices without comparing their item lists can give a misleading result.
Ask whether cushions, occasional tables and any requested finish changes are included. Keep the original item references when you discuss alternatives so an attractive substitution does not silently change the scope.
Ask what supports the upholstery
Request the frame construction, joints, seat-support system and cushion composition for the exact model. Ask which components can be maintained or replaced and which are fixed. Clear answers are more useful than a general claim of premium quality. If an answer is unavailable, leave it as a question on the specification rather than filling it in from appearance.
Compare comfort in measurable terms
Seat height, usable seat depth and back support influence how a sofa feels. State whether you prefer upright conversation seating or a more relaxed position. Note the people who will use the room and whether arm support matters to them. A large overall depth does not necessarily mean a deep usable seat.
If you cannot try the piece, request the relevant measurements and a short video showing the seat and cushions. For your room footprint and entrance route, follow the classic sofa measuring guide.
Choose upholstery for the way the room is used
Begin with the fabric’s appearance and intended use. Ethan Allen’s fabric and leather guide makes that distinction useful: colour, pattern and sheen are one decision; wear and care are another. Request composition, cleaning instructions and a physical or clearly identified fabric reference where available.
For a busy household or professional project, ask for relevant textile test information. The Association for Contract Textiles separates aspects such as abrasion, lightfastness and physical properties. One test result does not establish every performance characteristic, and the guidance does not certify an AVELOR piece. A designer should assess the actual documents for a commercial brief.

Compare the decorative character last
Once the practical shortlist works, compare Nida, Riva and Sultan as room compositions. Look at the frame outline, upholstery contrast and relationship with side tables. Choose which feature should lead the room and give it enough visual space.
What should an international enquiry include?
Send the collection link, item list, room plan, preferred fabric or finish direction, delivery country, city and postcode. AVELOR welcomes enquiries for the United States, Europe and Middle East; availability, prices, options and delivery arrangements are confirmed individually. Use the international quotation checklist to compare the complete proposal.
